Evaluation Q2

The protagonist in our film ‘Eve’ is white, British, female and aged 17. we have used a positive representation for this character because we wanted the audience to want her to survive. The first scene we see Eve in is set in the graveyard, this gives us some background on the character, also she acts in a stereotypical way because she wants revenge for the death of her friends. We have used natural lighting when you see this character, we did this because high key lighting would make the scene seem too happy and low key lighting would make the character look too antagonistic.
The antagonist in our film is ‘The Ghost’, she is also female, white, British and aged roughly 16/17 . The ghost is not stereotypical because she is very casual and you wouldn’t expect someone of her age and gender to be so violent. The ghost has been represented negatively because she is a killer. Also we don’t find out anything about her past in the film, we decided to keep it a mystery so there is no way the audience can sympathise with her.
The other two characters in the opening of our film are ‘Eric’ and his friend ‘Jim’, they both die early on in the film, we have shown this in the form of a flashback. We have also used a positive representation for these characters. We have challenged  gender stereotypes in this scene because we have made the males the vulnerable ones and the female the villain when stereotypically it would be the other way around.
